Product Photography for Simple Items

Even simple items benefit from quality photos. Let’s say you own an online store – you sell an interesting product in the $100 – $500 range. One strategy to increase the AOV (Average Order Value) is to offer supplemental, related products that are small… even if they seem boring.

Sure, I’d love to tell you everyone that visits your site will purchase your primary product in the $100 – $500 range – but… well… they won’t.

In fact, if you can get 3% of those visitors to purchase your $500 product, you are doing amazing!

If that’s not happening yet – don’t get discouraged! You can still generate a sale – and therefore, and opportunity to sell them on the larger product at a later date – by offering smaller products. These could be simple items like the ones you see below, or items that have more of an “impulse buy” look & feel.

No matter what – even the smallest, most boring items benefit from crisp, clean product photography – it will help you sell more product.
